All,

I could use a little help here. I'm working on using family Assembly Codes (Uniformat) to group assemblies in schedules, i.e., walls, and run some basic cost info in Schematic. I can't seem to get a "Total Cost" calculated value to work. I'm trying: "Area * Cost" - I know I'm missing something very basic here, so, ashamed, I ask the oracle.

Thanks,

You are probably having inconsistent units problem. You have to transform the area parameter in a number before doing that. Try doing (Area / 1sf) * Cost. It should work

it is a units formatting problem. You need to remove the units from the numbers in order for Revit to perform the operation. The correct formula is as follows.

Material: Area*Material: Cost /(1'^2)

The /(1'^2) removes the formatting allowing the math operation to complete.
