can anybody tell me the steps to become a certified designer. can i do it online?

Assuming Architectural or Interiors, certification comes (usually) only after:

Acquire a college degree in Interior Design or Architecture
Work for a minimum of 2-3 years under a licensed professional
Accrue a certain number of hours for particular job-related tasks
Take and pass a certification exam administered by the state board of examiners

If you're speaking of Graphic Design
Get a Degree
Get Industry Certification from somebody who offers it

hey cgorsuch thanks for the reply. i work in the arch. field and have an assoc. degree as well as 3.5 yrs exp. thanks for the help
