I'm just wondering why I can't do a Select All Instances on certain elements, namely Room Separation lines and also Room objects? I have many instances of both on the wrong worksets, and I was trying to correct it the easy way, but alas the Select All Instances is grayed out when I right-click on either one of these element types. Seems to me like any and all elements should have the option to Select All Instances.

I could be wrong, but I believe it has something to do with the fact that those elements don't have type parameters, only instance. So you can't choose what type of room object you want to place, they are all the same. I guess the best option would be to window everything in that area and filter out everything except rooms and go from there. But I do agree, that would be nice to have....

Right, but I was trying to not have to switch over to an overall plan view and select everything and filter, as that only selects everything on that particular level.

I don't see why not having type parameters should keep you from being able select all instances of that element.

I believe it is because you are selecting all the "instances" of that "type" of element. So if you have a door that is a 36" x 84" type, no matter what the instance parameters are, select all instances was select all of that type. Same as if you take that same door and duplicate it as a new "type" (ex 36" x 84"2), even though everything about the door is the same, select all instances will only select doors with that type designation.
