View Full Version : No Object Styles for 3d MEP models imported from Autodesk MEP

I'm working on a Revit 9.1 architectural file where we used the IFC command to link MEP models. As I understand it, these models were created using AutoCAD and then the MEP guys did a save as to Revit. The problem I'm having is controling the line weights of ANYTHING in these MEP models.

There are no listings for these objects in the imported objects. If I go to the files themselves, the ducts and everything else appear ghosted. There are no worksets. The familes that exist in the project browser are not listed anywhere in the Object styles. The families have no line weights associated with them. The line weights would be livable in projection but whenever an object in the MEP model is cut in section, the line weights are SO heavy that it obscures everything within a one inch boundary of the printed architectural drawing.

I'm at a complete loss as to how to control the line weights of these models. Am I SOL?

Please Help!

IFC does not work well, it is better to import the dwg, then you will have control of the layers under imported categories. This isn't quite as simple as it sounds...see my post about this here http://bimmanager.blogspot.com/2007/03/importing-abs-files-into-revit.html
