The picture is pretty self-explanatory. I've tried remaking the array using both second and last with the same results. Crazier still: if I drag the ends around the spacing changes in different places to different sizes. I keep waiting for smoke to start coming out of my computer.

One thing you might check:

Verify that the origin (insert point) of your chair is at the center of the chair's geometry. Some of the stock chairs have their's near the front corner, and if you then try to radial array them using the center of the seat as your array origin, you can get the strange results you describe.

The origin is at center.
The thing that's baffling is that the array once was correct.. When I went back in and started editing the array (add/subtracting seats, dragging the ends) it ended up like the screenshot. Some of the other rows are just fine. I can remake these rows from scratch and it seems to work fine, but evidentially there is no guarantee that they'll stay that way.

I wonder if that's what is meant by being "Stuck in a RUT".

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. Get it? Revit User Therapist? R.U.T.? Oh, nevermind.

Radial Array in Revit 2012 has the same problem of unequality between the first three instances of the array. In Revit 2013, it has been fixed.

Uh, I've done auditorium seating before - 12,000 seats in oval configuration. I'm not sure you are in the right ballpark here.

How are you spacing the radiused seating? Each concentric row has a different arc length. If you want the seats to align at the aisle, you have to have a mix of seat sizes to make up the exact length of the arc. Stadium seating manufacturers offer 18,19, 20 21 and 22 inch width seats. You have to find a combination of seat widths. Check out page 4 of the American Seating Catalog: http://americanseating.com/architectural/uploads/resources/Sports_Brochure_1.pdf

In the pictures of the radiused seating, look down the curved rows. You will see the seats do not quite line up.

If I were doing it, I would probably use the same width seat, with different spacing in each row to get the seats aligned at the row ends. Then in the specs say to adjust seat width as required, and let the manufacturer figure it out and show it on their shop drawings. I'm sure they have their own software that figures out that kind of thing.

But that's just me. :)
