Opened a project that I had updated just last week & it runs reeeeaaaallllllyyyy slow. Panning-zooming w/ shadows on isn't an option. Will continue to run 2009 & look for clues. Right now am looking at a blank screen.

To be fair, however, I'm downloading the Impression file (also very slow), playing music, reading e/m and tying here. Most of that is a constant & hasn't been problematic though.

this may be obvious, but have you enabled 3d hardware acceleration?

Hello,
We are not aware of this issue in 2009.
One thing that could cause this is if your graphics card drivers are not up to date. Could you check if they are and if they are not, update them.
I am also curious what graphics card you have and if you have OpenGL on or off.
If none of this helps, let me know and I would like to run a test on your files.
Steve

Well I simply jumped right in with my eyes shut...didn't fully configure before I opened the file.
All of my drivers are current (card is Quadro FX1400) and system is Intel 6700 Dual core, WinXP.
I have spent the last hour reviewing my configuration & will begin again, properly this time, in the AM.
I''m expecting nothing but the finest.

Another factor to take into account: please do not compare r2008 with just upgraded model r2009 version. Upgrade might take memory and might affect performance.
Save model after upgrade, start new Revit session and compare. Thanks.

Also, i would make sure you have current drivers for the video cards.... We had a pretty embarassing weeklong episode surrounding not having updated drivers, LOL...

Thanks again Steve :)

Whew! I let it all sit quietly overnight & now we're back operating in good order this morning.

Where's the loft tool?

Where's the loft tool?

No loft. It is called "swept blend" It is avaliable as a solid or void form when creating geometry. In place families, massing, component family modeling, etc...

Sorry, Jeff. I was kidding.

I'll have to be careful to remember to add the little winkie icons to my posts.

I think the program is a bit faster compared to the previous revit versions. I'm impressed with the new rendering engine...It's awesome.

btw: I'm using a celeron 1.6mhz processor with 1gb ram. built in intel 950 graphics.
