I'm using AutoCAD 2005 (sp1) and I have recently had a recurring problem. My Layer Properties Manager after time stops displaying text. (see attached image)
If I run a repair through the install discs it solves the problem temporarily. I have trawled through the net trying to find a solution to no avail. Has anyone had this problem or came up with a solution.

When you start AutoCAD does appear any dialog box problem.

Interesting. I never saw that before.

Instead of a repair install, have you tried a complete uninstall, then install? Perhaps the repair routine is missing something?

It seems to be a problem that becomes worse through time. If I start a new session I can see the layer text although if for example I click of the on/off icon it disappears. We are upgrading to 2008 shortly so I think I'll just sit this out. Thanks for your replies.

I have had this problem too.
To solve it I rebooted my computer. Started Autocad again and the layer text showed up just fine.
At the end of the day shutdown Autocad.

If I left Autocad open with a blank drawing then the layer text would not show up the next day.

I am using a Dell workstation with 8GB of ram and Autocad 2006.

I saw a problem like this before in my old office, then they found out that this cause by the 3rd Party software that the user had installed.
