View Full Version : Plot Files and Viewports

I recently created plot files for a 55 drawing set. I noticed in some of the drawings some of the viewports plotted in color instead of the intended black and white. To correct the problem I had to go into the drawing and copy the properties of one of the viewports that plotted correctly to the color-plotting viewport. The properties of all the viewports appeared to be the same before I did the properties copy so I have no idea what went wrong the first time. Any ideas?

Are you using STB's or CTB's when plotting?
And whas each layout using the same settings?
It almost sounds as if there were differences in them
and probably no change to investigate a copy of that drawing
as it was before you copied viewports and modified them.
Do you have an old version for us to look at to verify the
plot settings? If so post a copy of it here.

We use ctb plot settings. Unfortunately I don't have an old copy of the drawings i plotted today to check. I looked at plot files and drawings from the last time we printed the job and found two plot files with the same problem (some viewports plot in color). I tried to recreate the plot files from the drawings but they came out correctly. I did notice that the viewports that appeared incorrect in the plot files were on a defpoints layer. I'm not sure how they ended up on that layer, usually we create a layer called vport for our viewports. Could that have anything to do with it?

Hi

Regarding Layer Defpoints and possible drawing file issues / problems, take a look at the following thread -

Have a good one, Mike
