Drafting fills

I Rarely use drafting patterns but was working on a detail tonight and discovered that the align tool does not work on drafting pattern fills. Has this always been the case? I had to create a new model fill to have the drafting detail align a brick pattern correctly.

Yup, always the case. As you said, if you never use them you probably just haven't run across the issue.

Thanks, never came across that - just a little odd. I'm sure there's logic in it but as I don't use them often, I can't understand why...guess that's why I decided not to use them a few years ago...:lol:

My guess as to why you cannot align drafting patterns is that they change scale with your view. They are not supposed to be actual objects. Like a brick pattern. Drafting patterns are better used as fill section like an earth pattern or rigid insulation, something that is not a tangible size like wood grain for example.

Oh I guess thats why we are not able to use them in familys.
