Wall clean ups WON'T work

I want to have the wall cleanups to be set to "Don't clean join" on some walls and it just WILL NOT WORK. I have circled the wall clean ups that I am not getting to work.

I have copied and pasted these walls into a new file using another template and it works. Could there be something in the template?
I got it to work on the far right upper wall but not on the others.

I detached from central to open it and be able to edit the file. I tried it and all works fine....

You have NEVER seen anything like this before?

I didn't look at your file, but in my experience all wall join issues have been related to a very short list of issues.
1. Two walls on top of eachother.
2. A wall above or below which is also (though not intentionally perhaps) joined to the problem walls in the same place.
3. A wall hosted element very close to the intersection influencing the display of the join.

I've also seen join problems when the elevation profile of a wall is edited.
