Mansard roof wont join

i've created a mansard roof with 2 roofs (first one with the cut off)

it has created ok, but they are not joined and it revit says it cannot join them :(

help....

Depending on the mansard, sometimes it is easier to create a mass and make the roof by picking the mass faces.

Almost always, in my experience. If you want the roof layers to neatly go round the corner between the different slopes, the only way is to use a mass. (unless your roof doesn't turn any corners in plan, in which case you can do roof by extrusion)

i got it to join with join geometry, but im interested in how to do it as a mass, is there any tutorials on it.
