How to miter a sloped floor to a horizontal floor?

You can extend one or another and then join them using the Join Geometry tool.

For some reason, I had tried the join tool without success. Now, it is working?!

Are you sure when you tried it it was a sloped floor and not a ramp? Visually they look the same, but ramps can't join with floors...
