I'm trying to import a Revit MEP model into my Revit Architecture model for coordination.
Here's what I know:
1. Both peices of software are 2008.
2. I've imported the Revit MEP model through File:Import:Revit...
3. Imported location origin to origin
4. My views are set to Coordination
5. Everything is on in the Visibility Graphics
6. The file shows as loaded in the links manager
...and I get nothing.
This has happened on earlier releases and the work around was to change all the discipline of all the ducts in the MEP model to Architectural. That's no longer an option and it obviously defeats the purpose. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Are you working with worksets on the host file? If that's the case, have you checked that the workset you brought the linked file in is open and On on your views?

Yes, all worksets are on as well.

And you can't see it on any view, even in 3D? If you can see it on at least one view, you could create a view template from that view and apply it to the view where you can't see it.

Not even in 3D. The only thing I see in any of my views is the Grid annotation from their model.

Is the MEP project a workset based project as well ?
I have had issues in the past where if worksets in the linked project have originally been set up with the option to not display in all views ticked, I was unable to see them when linked in
Maybe the case ?

Phil,
Where do I check if this is the case?

You won't be able to "tell". You'll have to ask the MEP consultant if they recall creating worksets by un-checking the "visible by default in all views". If they remember doing so they will need to create new worksets and move everything to these new workset that have not un-checked the option. Note, you could technically do this in their model yourself with your copy to see if it makes a difference and then talk to them if it does.
Also...don't forget about phases...if they used them you might just have your phases out of sync with theirs. You can map their file's phases to yours in the properties of the link.

That was the issue. Thanks.
