working with linked files

Hi all,

We have a building model that is linked into a site model. I am working in the site model- rotating and moving into place in plan view. Simultaneously, another person is working in a local file of the building model.

When I try to save the new location, I get a message stating the central file has been changed by someone else and that I have to perform a save as first, then save to central. But, I still cannot save the location...it gives me the same error over. The "central" file is referring to the building model; site is not workshared.

any thoughts on this?

I believe when saving locations no one else can be in the file. Get them to close the file temporarily, save the location then resume working.
