I'm creating post-tension tendons (would be nice if there was a tool in Revit for that, but anyway...) and the paths for them cannot be created with lines that are restricted to one plane. I was planning on just laying out the tendons path on plan, then switch to an elevation and adjust the elevations and fillet the lines for the bend radii, and in all my planning forgot that lines in Revit don't work this way. What I am thinking is to create snap points at each point the paths change direction and drawing my path from point to point... but I have a feeling that I won't be able to apply fillets. I'm really trying to take care of this in Revit before going into AutoCAD to do this. I'm pretty sure that's going to be the final solution though :(

Nobody has had to make helical sweeps? I tried importing geometry from ACAD but I wasn;t able to select my pline as a sweep path. :(

I've done helical sweeps using curved ramps hidden on temporary worksets and using the railing hosted to the ramp as a sweep. It was like a vertical, though (like a suspension spring)...
