So I was reading this blog and was a little confused on something. He is designing an intersection by extracting feature lines from corridors and then creating a feature line for the curb returns and assigning their elevations based on the feature lines. This way when he changes his center line design the curb returns will update accordingly. Nice idea as he isn’t using curb return alignments and profiles. What happens on the inside of the curb return? I don’t see how the whole intersection ties together. It would be great if we could use feature lines as baselines in corridors but I imagine that won’t happen for a while.
How does Autodesk say to do intersection design with this new functionality? Or do I still need to go about it the same way I have been, ie creating curb return profiles and alignments, targeting the ETW for the intersecting roads?
