Door/ Room Tag Association

i am in the process of adding doors on our plans. i have my plan view and door schedule view tiled. i added the room name parameter on the door schedule and for some reason even though the doors open into the rooms flanking our corridors the room name parameter defaults to the corridor and not room name. we are having to change it in the schedule.
is there a way around this? What's hte REvit logic as far as doors and room association?

The problem with that parameter is that if the door is flipped after the schedule is created, the changes are not reflected in theschedule. You have to manually coordinate.
