Today I need to scan and label and print about 70 of these 1942 drawings. Scanning isn't the problem but the printing is another story. I will learn in class at the end of the month how to manipulate the data but today I need to scan, add a note and print a record copy.

When I print nothing comes out but my note. What am I doing wrong?
ANY help that gets a print out of the scan will put me forever in your debt and be greatly appreciated......

I can't get the drawing and scan up here, it exceeds the limit of space allowed. I will need to send it directly to you via email. The win zip file says it 7,797KB.

By the way, I am a complete novice in this and just trying to hang in there until class at the end of this month....

Usually if the raster portion of a drawing does not print it is because your printer ran out of memory. In other words, the plot file being sent to your plotter is too large. A quick test of this is can the plot be generated at a smaller sheet size, like 11 x 17.

A possible way to reduce the plot size is to reduce the raster quality when plotting. This is done in the plot dialog by going into the printer properties and lower the raster plot quality.

Because your file was too large to post, it may have been scanned at too high of a resolution or possibly the wrong image type. Was it scanned as true color or grayscale, when it could have been scanned as binary?

Hi David,

I scanned it as a monochome, text & line drawing. 32x40. I will try reducing it. I also figured out how to "despeckle' and have been doing some of that because the prints are soooo bad which has to reduce the size some too. I will try to plot it as an 11x17. Thanks for the tip.

We have had problems with memory, too. Had to tell the computer to spool from the computer, instead of the plotter. It's slower, but it worked.
