Easiest way to find the center of a wall etc

i always seem to struggle to draw a ref plane on say the middle of a wall or brick pier, is there a certain way of doing this?

Revit seems to snap to the centerline of a wall, but not to the centerline of a wall core. You can TAB to find the wall centerline, and in 2009 its blue.

If you are trying to get to the center point of the arc that defines the wall, you could start a ref plane, hover over the wall and type "SC" for 'snap center' and the beginning point of the ref plane will jump to that center point.
