View Full Version : REVIT 2009
Has anyone had any problems or has seen potential problems with switching their projects to revit 2009? Since once you go forward, you can't go back I thought I'd ask the augi population their experiences so far. thanks!

The most common problem people are talking about is regarding performance. Few people also had problems upgrading their files.
You may want to read these two threads:

For what its worth, we archive a copy before any upgrading. It seems as if the problems some people are having have to do with all out performance, so that said... Any issues i THINK youll have should be evident right fromt he get go (or close to it) so youd be able to revert back to the archived copy without losing that much work...
thanks for the input... after reading the threads it seems wise to approach with caution, especially if you have a very large project with multiple users..

Yes, always create an isolated test case for one individual and test before upgrading a whole project team across to ensure your particular project is happy with the change. Success can really vary between projects, some just don't like being upgraded sometimes...

Have not really had time to play with it yet. It took 30 minutes to install the new version alone and that does not count the time to copy over the custom templates or libraries, either!

I had issues with Columns and walls:

I also had issues with some families becomming unlocked from the reference planes in their familes, and as such looked "exploded"
Since you can run both versions at once on your PC, I would suggest staying with 2008 for existing projects - especially if they are in construction doc. There is not really much advantage in changing.

We have that issue sometimes with the supplied families in RAC2008 also... usually seems to be doors that need a few tweaks to reattach bits to their reference planes so glass panels etc aren't outside the walls...!
