manage/make a pattern on the generic model....in the perfect world i would like to show a reveal at intervals in the horizontal and vertical....doable???.........yes/no

I assume it is in fact a wall and not a generic model? Simply use wall sweeps in vertical and horizontal directions to break up the surface as you require. I also assume this is on the external facade?

I'm not sure why do didn't use the wall tools, however if you must keep it a generic model have you tried using the paint bucket tool and paint the surface with a material you create that has a surf. pattern with the joint pattern you are looking for.

yea...in hindsight i should have made a wall....but its circular and the circumfrence at the top is smaller than the circumfrence at the bottom....i have played a little with tilte planes and glass but wasnt sure about making a wall like that.....paying the price now
