With the advent of Revit 2009 came a big change to RPC usage. Now it's no longer necessary to create a model geometry, since Revit recognizes and applies the icon that comes with each RPC. All good, except when we use said icons on a project. For example, the new tree RPC's icon, while looking many times better than the old one (a few lines stiking out of the ground), now creates a new problem. the icon is solid, and on elevation views with a lot of foliage, all we see are trees.
I know this sounds picky, but I'd really like the chance to create custom icons for my RPC's, and so far I came up short. I have acquired the tools to create RPC's and to create the icons, but they only work from scratch. And since I cannot seem to access the image files within an existing RPC, it's back to square one.
Do any of my fellow colleagues know of a way to do what I'm trying to do?
Sincerely
Pedro Alvito
