detail component on sectioned mullion in 3d view

Hello,
Does anyone know of a way to apply a detail component to a mullion profile, in a way that if the mullion is sectioned by a section box in 3d, the detail will show in the 3d view on the sectioned mullion?
Modelling the whole profile in 3d is not possible, as Revit can only process a single continuous closed profile loop, which is not the case.

Since the detail applied to a profile is view oriented and you can't have a 3D view while drawing the profile (only plan view), you won't be able to see it on a 3D view on your project. Only in plan...

As Andre pointed out, detail components are 2d by design.
The only suggestion I can make is to consider nesting a family into the curtain panel family. The nested family would contain only model lines that could be visible in 3D. The only caveat is that it would be at a specific elevation relative to the panel. Make it off by default and have a parameter to control visibility in other views.
