Symobolic Lines in Lighting Fixtures

I have created a wall mounted light fixture, and need to have dashed symbolic lines that show up in the RCP. No matter where I set the cut plane or what reference plane in the family that I attach the lines to, I cannot get them to show up in RCP. I've done this before with wall based sconces, and tried to replicate those families, but it still won't behave the way I want it to. Any thoughts?

I edited the family, added symbolic lines to the fixture, changed the 3D elements to not show on plan and RCP and loaded it into the project. Changed my view range on the RCP view to be sure the fixture was included into it and it works now.
