is it possible to make a schedule that i can type the information in?
i want to do a lintel schedule but they are drawn as detail components, so im not sure how i will do it.

Try this...
Under View, New Schedule...
Click "Schedule Keys." (see attached).
When in the schedule view, you can click "New" which will give you a new row. Then you can type whatever you want in the cells.

Yes, but its not evident from the documentation. You create a schedule, of the catagory of items you want, say Structural Beams. So you'd do a View/New/Schedule-Quantities, then Structural Framing, and click on the Schedule Keys radio button. Then in the resultant dialog box you'll add your parameters that you want to type in. When you get the schedule, since it is a Key schedule, there will be a Rows: New button on the lowest toolo bar. Good Luck!
