When using ADT, I used to be able to use commands such as, %%C to get the diameter symbol and there were many others. Is there a Revit equivalent for commands to obtain these symbols?

You have to use a table that shows ALL the characters for the Truetype font you are using. This will/can tell you the keystrokes to use.

Is that table available from within the text editor?

No!! I have it bookmark in Internet Explorer.

I use Windows Character Map for this. In Windows XP it's under Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map.

Or Choose Run (Windows key + R) and type charmap
