Not sure if this is where I need to post this thread but here it goes. Our company has recently upgraded to AutoCAD Architecture 2008. The help section states that holding down the control key and hitting the R key repeatively cycles thru the view ports. I remember this from previous versions and it worked. I hold the control key down and hit the R the cross hair changes to a puck but that is all. I remain in one viewport. Any help appreciated.

I use Civil 3D 2008 and Ctrl+R cycles through the viewports. Make sure you have one viewport active first. If you have paper space active it does not work.

I've tried it all and no luck. We had 2004 before the upgrade and was working fine. I'm not sure if there is some parameters missing?

CTRL+R was left out of Shortcut Keys in the stock menu in 2007 (and, apparently, 2008). Add CTRL+R to your shortcut keys and use ^V as the macro to return the functionality.

Thanks Tim that was the solution. The only problem that I had was when assigning the key. It would not let me use Control + R. It seems something is using it. I checked all the shortcut keys and there is nothing using that key. Instead I had to use Control Shift + R. Do you have any ideas as to what is using that key? Thanks

Have a look at Enabling CTRL+R shortcut key (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=8221103&linkID=9240657) for a method to transfer CTRL+R from acad.cui. I installed 2008 and tried creating it from scratch, also, and for some reason it won't accept the CTRL key any more. :?

Hope this helps.

I took a look at the link for Enabling Control + R. If only I had a previous version. I have recently gotten a new computer with only 2008 installed. I guess I could get use to using the Control Shift + R. I dont use this that often so if there isnt a fix this will do for now. Thanks for your help.

It still applies. Replace 2007 with 2008 in the instructions. It worked here.

Start Architectural Desktop 2008.
Enter CUI on the command line.
Click the Transfer tab in the Customize User Interface dialog box.
In the right panel of the dialog box, under Customizations in New CUI File, select Open from the drop-down menu.
Browse to the following directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\<CURRENT USER>\Application Data\Autodesk\ADT 2008\enu\Support
Select the acad.cui file and click Open.
In both the left and right panels, click Keyboard Shortcuts > Shortcut Keys.
Select CTRL+R on the right panel under acad.cui and drag it into Keyboard Shortcuts on the left panel under Main CUI File.
Click OK.

I'm not sure what happened but I entered CUI just to look around. I took a second look at the keyboard shortcut that I created. I tried to change the access key to CTRL + R and it took this time. Its working the way it should. Thanks for all your help.
