downloadable families

I'm a very new user of Revit Structure 2008 and would like to know if there is a site from which families can be downloaded. The program doesn't seem to come with much in the way of families or perhaps I just don't know where they are located. Specifically today I need 2w floor decking with normal weight concrete topping. Any suggestions?

Hi, welcome to Revit. You can find a lot of families on the net at sites such as revitcity.com

I suggest you get some training on family creation though, as you will end up being able to create any flooring type or anything else for that matter much faster than you can find these on the net.

As a start try picking slab on the modelling tab
then select floor properties
select a composite type floor under Type
If this suits you use it
if not
Edit/New
Duplicate
give it a name
select Edit in Construction / Structure
hilight structure decking (probably layer 3)
under deck profile at the bottom of the screen see if there is a profile loaded into your project that suits

If not you will have to make a profile which is easy when you know how.
