arc length dimensions

I am trying to find a way to dimension an arc length so the extension lines are radial when the angle is less than 90 degrees.

edit for clarity: Is there anyway to force the extension lines to always be radial when using the Arc Length Dimension command.

I think this is a bug. I have discussed this with others and the AutoCAD command does not follow standard drafting practices. I have searched the web and received no solutions. Someone sent me a lisp routine that didn't work. I submitted this problem to the AUGI Wish List 1/21/09.
