I looked through forums and didn't find an answer to this question and I apologize if I missed it. I have reinstalled Windows on a system and forgot to copy the keynote file (which I have been editing heavily of late) into the proper directory. I also neglected to back it up. When I load the recent projects, all of the keynotes display properly but the keynote file that revit refers to is not there. Is there a way to export keynotes from a drawing file? TIA

The keynotes are in the project, but the keynote text is missing, right?

Correct, kind of mysterious.

Actually, to be clearer, the keynotes are displaying correctly in the drawing but the keynote file does not exist on the hard drive.

You can assign keynotes to elements even if they don't exist in the keynotes file, so all normal with your files.
Your problem is that you lost the keynote -> text association wich only exists in that particular file.

I had the same problem. I wrote down the keynotes I was missing and added them to the txt file. When I opened the Revit file they loaded. I don't think there is a way to export the keynotes in the drawing file back to the txt file.
