I was kind of missing the tally of new members that we got at the zoog site, so went for a look to see if I could find something similar here - are there really 54,000 AUGI members!!

For some reason it doesnt seem like we are getting as many new members posting on AUGI (the Revit forums) as we did at zoog, I wondered if I was just not noticing the new members or if this is actually the case.

I googled "Revit" and "Revit forums" and couldnt find this site directly on google (there was a re-direct from the old zoog site).... That is what I would type into google if I was new and looking for something like this - we should be right below the Autodesk site surely?? or at least on googles first page with a direct link - dont know how you do that?

I agree it was nice to see the membership rising and be able to see who recently joined. I do think there are quite a few "new" users posting these days, those who may have joined Zoog but seldom posted perhaps...but there are a few who started contributing at RevitCity first and frequent both "pubs" now.

There has been discussion about how we can let each other know what software we use or follow. Several decent ideas are possible but there hasn't been any action taken on them as far as I know.

Let's keep some focus on it and see what happens?

How about a little line in the user profile that simply says which Autodesk product they use?

Primary Software: Revit

Or maybe a little Revit symbol next to all of the other symbols?

Primary Software: RevitThis THREAD (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=6922&highlight=Revit+Users)carried this discussion. I suggested that we have member choose the Group they wish to belong to (an existing feature)... and others offered their thoughts...

What I was saying is how would a new user actually find this place, I couldnt really find it on Google other than the re-direct from the old zoog site........ I think it is really important for this place to be on google with a clear description of what AUGI actually is, otherwise it will not do too well with regards to gaining new members.

...What I was saying is how would a new user actually find this place... Understood, but I wasn't replying to that comment...just the fewer new user posts comment. I agree that a search on Google ought to lead someone here.

Just notified the person that handles where we show up on search engines and let him know about this thread. He said he will look into it.
