I need to detail up a 40' x 40' x 15' deep pit with a 15' wide road sloping up from the bottom of the pit to grade level at a 5% grade. Does anyone know how to do this?

You could do a topo at 0' elevation with a 40'x40' Pad drawn on it that is at -15' elevation. Draw another pad that slopes (new to Revit 2009) or a floor that slopes at 5% (or 5'/100' or .6/12 slope)

Thanks for the quick reply Scott. I haven't use the site tools much. So to make sure I read what you are saying correctly, a 5% grade slopes 5 feet in 100' which is also the same as 0.6 / 12 slope? I really do appreciate your help!

Yep! Also you can change the units of Slope to percentage in Settings>Project Units.

Here's an example file, hope I interpreted your needs correctly!

To find slope in x/12 from percentage, just use this formula:

x/100 = y/12

Where x is your percentage (5) and y is what you are solving for.
