Hatch Appearance

I have a steel roof that I am trying to model. The panels on the roof appear as lines, which is right, but they rotate with the screen instead of being associated with the object (the roof). I want the 3D to appear correct. How can I make the hatch stay aligned with the roof instead of the screen?

Make sure that the Fill Pattern you use is a Model pattern, not Drafting.

In the Materials dialog, where you choose the Surface Pattern, click on the "..." button beside the drop-down list - that will let you choose between the two.
