Demo'd Wall cutting New Column?

Anyone have this problem? I have a remodel plan, in which I've demo's some walls. In their place, I added some round columns. The column's geometry is being cut by a wall that is in demo phase, while the column is is the New phase.

Any idea how to fix it?

I have run into it. Could not figure out a solution so I made in place generic families. I do that with some columns and beams because they don't act right sometimes.

I've also seen this. i used non-colum family objects instead.

did you try unjoining the wall and column using the unjoin geometry command, columns place against walls automaticall join with the wall and take on its properites, if you unjoin them your problem should go away.

hmmm...that works for some of the columns which are standard columns, but not for some I created as in-place families???
