Area enclosed by railings

I need to dimension balconies which are enclosed on two or more sides by railings. Is it possible to get the railings to count as a room separation without going through and drawing a room separation line for each balcony?

Are you trying to dimension or trying to get the area of the balcony? You can dimension to the floor of the balcony if that is all you are trying to do. You might be able to find a work around for the railing to be an actual wall, but that seems like more trouble than just drawing the Room Separation lines.

I need to get the area of all the balconies. I was hoping to find a quick way to do it by somehow comining the railing path with a room separation. I need to find the area of about 1500 balconies which only a few are the same size.
