Font Disappearing Randomly

I am having a problem that the font I have specified for the style I am using reverts to some simple font at random times during the day. Once it has changed it does not show or plot correctly again until restarting AutoCAD. The font is stored on a server so that everyone has access to the font. Other people do not lose the font when I do. Also, this just started a few days ago, it has not been an ongoing problem. A few other people in our office have had this problem in the past and solved the problem by installing the font on their individual computer. I help manage our shared AutoCAD resources and don't feel this is the best solution as we may change the font we use at some point. Does anyone have an idea of what could be happening? Thanks.

Installing the font locally IS the obvious fix. Note that acad only reads the list of fonts available to it at startup - so, for example, if you install a ttf font whilst acad is running, acad will not notice the new font until it has been restarted.
