I'm putting this question here because I'm not exactly sure where it should go...

Anyway, I have a window family that has two different sizes: one 6'-0" H and one is 7'-6" H. For some reason the 6'-0" window is not rendering correctly but the 7'-6" one is. The window almost looks like it is transparent which is odd if you ask me. The window looks perfectly fine in shaded views.

If I start a completely new project, draw a wall and insert both window types they render fine. So, this leads me to believe it has something to with the project they are in. The project has existing, demo and new construction phases along with design options involving the wall they are in. I don't know why this would be a problem since all of the other windows render fine.

I've attached some images showing the problem and the window family itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Figured it out - kind of. In the window family file the 7'-6" type has the materials defined as 'stone' and in the 6'-0" family type the material is defined as 'by category', when I change the 'by category' to 'stone' it renders correctly. Weird..

Yeah, this was a serious dealbreaker for me too. I modeled all of the Armstrong Serpentina metal ceiling panels in a line based family, so i could do mall corridors and change the sizes quickly. But i only built one family for all the sizes, as a few simple math formulas can generate all the different sizes.

But each Family Type has to have the Material Parameters re-selected. Eeeeeesh. LOL...
