hi,

I have installed LT 2005 on several new machines, two of them are giving the error:
Unhandled access violation reading 0x0da4 exception at 36007973h.
I have received the error on some "old" machines, PII 348 Mhz, 256Mb, XP installed
So they told me the machine is to old, so we replaced it. And suprise, we have the same error!

The error occurs after startup of LT (approx. a minute)

Hope that someone can help me.

Thanks

Arie

Arie,

Who is it that told you to get a new machine?

Are you a subscription customer? If so, and if you don't get any help here, you can log in to the Autodesk Subscription Center at the Autodesk.com site. There you have access to support and can enter the exact error message and let them research it for you.

Generally AUGI is great about helping users. I have seen some specific error codes though that we can't answer for you. Just wanted you to have a back up method.

By chance have you made absolutely sure that you don't have any viruses or spyware on the machines? And did you totally disable the virus program before installing AutoCAD? I've seen either of these cause major problems that seem hard to imagine.

Hi

Haven't got AutoCAD LT but does it have the following functionality (is available in AutoCAD 2004 & 2005) -

<snip>
Error Reporting utility let's you send in reports to Autodesk if AutoCAD crashes. Do it and make the next Service Pack or Release more stable. If AutoCAD ends unexpectedly, and the Error Report message is not displayed, make sure the REPORTERROR system variable is set to 1.
</snip>

For what it's worth have you installed Service Pack 1 for AutoCAD LT 2005 -

ID: TS100118 - Service Pack 1 for AutoCAD® 2005, AutoCAD LT® 2005, and Autodesk® Revit® Series 2.0 (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=4616541&linkID=2475874)

Have a good one, Mike

Just in case there are others out there still using ACAD LT 2005 (like me) and having this problem, I found that PC Tools Spyware Doctor (v 6.0) creates this exception.

I uninstalled Spyware Doctor and LT worked fine again. Downloaded and installed AVG (like I used to have) and LT still worked fine.
