Stuck on massing :(

im really struggling with massing, i did the tutorial but im still lost :(

im trying to make a simple box with a hipped roof on it, but can only make the gable

There are many different ways to do this as a mass, but if you want to make a hip roof using the Roof tool, simply select create roof from footprint or face and then have the option checked for lines to define slope. Pick the lines that form the edge of the roof or draw the lines. They should all have a slope indicator. This will define a hip roof.

In massing mode, just put another box on top of the first

Use void extrusion on one side and just mirror copy and rotate it (pick plane to work on)
This will allow you to p/p the shapes into any hip style you want

If you want a more complicated hip roof shape (overhangs and moldings) use a sweep
