Downloaded a RFA but it has no materials set

i downloaded a fence family file which is great, but it has no materials set to it for rendering or 3d shaded view.

how could i add them?

Edit your family and go to Settings menu > Materials > You should have at least one material left. Select it and click on Duplicate (at the bottom of the dialog box). From there, you can select the color, surface pattern, cut pattern, etc., and apply to the fence objects.
