Anyone know how to accomplish taking a axonometric view or camera view for that matter and place notes and dimensions pocheing...etc on it? I thought of exporting out a hidden line render and doing it in Illustrator the rest of the way....BUT, what has everyone seen done out there?

Attached is a quick example. this was done all in Revit. I was able to place both notes and dimensions (notice dimension on counter height.

Just be aware that if the view orientation is changed at all, those text notes will get all out of whack, pointing off to different things or out into space. Not sure how the dimension will behave.

changing your workplane while in a 3D view allows you to place dimensions at different "planes" in the 3D view.

The trick with regards to dimensioning is to set the work plane in the 3D view and use the pick a plane option before placing dimensions. As Patrick mentioned, be careful about changing the view because text won't rotate with the view (another SketchUp trick that might useful in Revit ;))

I love using Axon's to explain conditions more clearly than the Plan and Elevation show. In this instance i dont have any dimensions on it, but i have done similar with cornices, and dimenioned them there. As the other guys have said, simply set the workplane to be in the plane that you want to dimension in, and have at it... :)

Thanks for the suggestions everyone on your workflow.
The reason I couldn't get those suggestions to work was because I was using a camera view...not a 3D view.
Thanks again!
