floor slap edge to cut the floor

We have been using the floor slap edge tool to quickly make curbs and gutters on our site plans. We are drawing the landscape outline right up to the edge of the AC paving Floor and we would add a floor slap edge with the profile of a curb (and or curb and gutter) then just join geometry and cut the floor of the landscaping with the curb profile. (Revit 2008). Now in 2009 the floor will automatically cut the floor slap edge no matter what. And this dose not work for are renderings. Is there any way to switch the priority of an object cutting ability? I need the floor slap edge to cut the floor again!!!

I know there is some work arounds like offsetting the landscape line 6" but this is so time consuming
