View Full Version : Keynote showing in legend, but not in model

Keynote #4 shows in the keynote legend (by sheet), but nothing is tagged with keynote #4 in the model view that is on the sheet.
I've tried showing hidden items (not there), I tried audit (didn't change anything.) I've had this happen once before in 2008, and they sent it off to development, but never received more information after that...
any ideas?

If you go to your keynote legend under the project browser, select the row showing the keynote #4 and click "Show" it should locate it for you.

No luck.
It shows me where keynote 4 is on all the other appropriate views, but it doesn't find it in the view where it is showing on the sheet.
I tried deleting the keynote from the keynote txt file, and now it just shows number 4 as a blank.

I'm trying to remember what I did...
I know I never heard back from Autodesk about this. I think I ended up deleting the view and then recreated it.

This doesnt work very well when you have it keynoted 200 times in other views, and just need to figure out why its showing up in a view that the keynote no longer exists. Well, with out going through and showwing all 200 instance by instance.

The strange part, I have figured out is that if you crop the view and then drag the region around, you can get it to finally dissapear, but still not be able to see the annotation. I'm still toying with this to see whats causing it and what happens to create the issue. . . .but I'm at wits end trying to figure out how to fix it.

I'll get back to everyone if I find it though :)

Meantime, if anyone else finds a solution, that would be spectacular.

Thanks

I have also encountered this. I keep on updating my keynotes - and some of them get removed from the keynote file, but are still tagged in the model with the old keynote number.
The issue is that an object within the model has a keynote associated with it. I have generally made up a multi-category schedule, listing all objects, and there keynote. from this schedule i can then see where the object with the wrong keynote is & then i can change it to the correct one.

I have removed a keynote from a legend when the keynote isn't in the view. You filter by number value, does not equal. The filter works for that legend only. .

I know its an old thread, but something worth reminding readers:

Keynote by Sheet DOESNT MEAN it filters the Legend for only whats used on the sheet. It means they get numbered not in an absolute fashion. IF you filter the Legend "By Sheet" that will do what it implies it does.

But THAT filter is set up in the Legend itself, under Filter. Otherwise the Legend shows them all...

I found the solution!! You have to delete the note all together and re-tag it in the appropriate locations again and it solved my issue. However, I know how this could be a hassle in larger projects, but it will solve the problem.

If the keynote doesn't appear on the sheet the other thing I've found to work in the past (If you're keynoting by sheet) is to remove the legend from the sheet and simply put it back on.
That kind of resets it.
