My project browser used to have plus signs on the sheets. If you click, it would list the views on the sheet. Now they are gone. The views are still showing up in the sheets. Also, I am breaking the building into quads. I have a main drawing with dependent views for the quads. The quads used to be named under the parent sheet. Now two floors have the named quads and 3 floors do not. If I open a sheet with the a quad that does not show on the browser, it still shows on the sheet. What did I do and how can I fix it??

It is probably a memory allocation thing. I have seen this a few times. Shutdown Revit and restart a new session. You should get the "plus" symbols back.

I have also had some luck just closing some views, minimizing Revit, then bringing it back. Closing views will free up some ram, and the minimize seems to (sometimes?) trigger Windows to actually reallocate that ram immediately.
It is crazy easy to end up with a real slew of open and hidden views, because the Revit UI really gives you no sense of how many views are open.

To avoid this I find myself using "close all hidden windows" every so often.

You can still access the sub-views by clicking on the line where the Plus symbol used to be, but as everyone has suggested its a memory issue

IF you are on XP Pro, try running in "Classic" mode instead of XP...

That worked for folks here.

Wow. Amazing how making new microsoft tools work like old microsoft tools actually improves them. I bet Vista is a stable speed demon in Windows 3.1 emulation mode. ;)

That said, I am going to be checking that setting, cause I have some users with issues, and some without, and have had a bugger of a time figuring out the difference. I suspect that may be it, in at least a few cases. I also discovered a brand new dell machine that shipped with an A0 bios, even tho' A4 was current when the machine was built. Lots of graphics problems stopped when that got upgraded. ;)

Best,

Good point, always check the bios...
We had recently discovered a boot.ini switch that corrected one of our "graphics problems"...

In machines requiring the /3GB switch, which also contain video cards exceeding 256mb, we are now placing the /Userva=2900 switch to aid in loading the video drivers...
We otherwise had to deal with our "new Dells" not booting with proper video drivers.
(in XP pro)... Dont know about the details there but it works like a charm..!!
