Wall sweep on edited elevation profile

Is there a way to get a sweep profile to follow an irregularly shaped top of wall condition that has been modified in the "edit profile" elevation mode?

Yes, using an inplace family see attached.

Not a regular wall sweep. You'll have to make an in-place family (which I think can use a loaded Profile Family in the sweep if you want to keep things consistent)
