think this is easy but cant figure it out

i have a cooktop and sink in my island.....cut plan is set above the island surface.....when i do the lightbulb it shows up (but not as if hidden, put another way it shows up as if it is "not hidden in view" and that is correct since its not......shows up in 3-d and sections correctlly but not in plan.....suggestions???

Check that the visibility of your family components are set to be visible in plan views.
