Is there any way to suppress the display of the dimesion line?
I'm trying to do site boundary dimensions (and angles), and I had (in cad) a style that would show only the text, I figured out how to turn off the extensions, witness lines and ticks, but not the dim line itself.
And yes, I could get around it by using text, but I'd prefer to have an actual dimension.

Have a look into using Property Line Segment tags. This is exactly what they are for.
Create a new Generic annotation family and then on the Settings menu select Family Category and Parameters, and change it to Property Line Segment Tags. You will then get access to the property labels. Attached are mine.
I think the out of the box content has a tag already made too.

Thanks Chad,
Your description on how to do that was perfect an easy to follow, athough it will be interesting to see what happens if I get a block with strange angles.
Now I just need to figure out how to rotate the bearing tag, but that's moot with this project at the moment.

I think Chads naming of the tags may be misleading you: all those tags he posted align automatically with the property line, regardless of the angle.
