just trying to see what the best way to do roof frames.
since all rafters are on a slope.

tried plumb cutting dimension lumber but it seems to stay only a square cut. if a generic model is created on a ref plane then it cannot be arrayed without rotating it which is the wrong direction.

why can't dimensional lumber be handled like we would if we had skill saw... i really miss the objects that ADT provided for this...

how do you array this for a roof

it seems to only copy in the plane that it was created.

Check this out www.tools4revit.com/ I have been doing beta testing for these guys and their plugin is very interesting. They are also working on Truss+ which will generate trusses and also a wall frame plugin.

That looks very interesting, thanks.

I've used something similar within Nemetschek Allplan for years and I know how fiddly it can be to set the rafter spacing and create and amend things like openings.
Once you set off doing this level of structural detail it really needs to work.

This Revit tool has a bit more intelligence than the Allplan version it would seem.

Very promising - no indication of costs/availability yet?
