In there a way to demolish, say, a door and just leave the opening? ie - to not create an automatic infilling component?

Hey Exar,

No automatic way.
Work around is to insert an opening as wall based generic model.

So I've attached an example, you may need to add types for your door size.

Hope this helps

This should be added to the wish list. I've always thought the automatic infill was goofy. It isn't what hapens in the real world. You demo something - you end up with a hole.

It always seemed to me one of those features that was cool in a sales presentation, but ends up not really working in the real world.

I split the wall itself, creating another "wall" that is hosting the door, that is exactly the same size as the door. Then i demo the wall, and it takes the door with it, without infill...

You can filter out the infilling wall.

Hey there,
Ever since RAC2008, just use the visibility override and hide the infilling wall.
Just another way.....
Good Luck
