Hi,
Can I use the 2D navigation wheel in model space? I have set navswheelmode to 3 but I still don't get the 2D wheel in model space. It appears automatically in layouts which is what I would expect.
Thanks
Maurice.

Try right clicking in model space and choosing "steering wheels". It works for me.

Maybe you should check this variable: MBUTTONPAN

Hi,
Nope! I don't seem to be able to get the 2D wheel in model space. (that is, the wheel that only has zoom, pan and rewind). But something else if funny. The command reference says NAVSWHEELMODE can take values 0,1,2,3,4,5,6 - but look at this copy from my command history:
###
Command: NAVSWHEELMODE
Enter new value for NAVSWHEELMODE <4>: 0
Command: '_NAVSWHEEL Right-click to display the shortcut menu. Press ESC or
ENTER to exit.
Regenerating model.
Command: NAVSWHEELMODE
Enter new value for NAVSWHEELMODE <8>: 1*Cancel*
###
Where has the 8 come from??

That's wierd. I usually keep mine on 2, but when I checked again after reading your post it was set to 8!! I have no idea what that is, but it wouldn't work. I reset it to 2 and it worked fine. I started a new drawing to check it and it was still set at 2. I have no idea why it went to 8 either.

Hi again,
Well I'm going to have to put this problem down for a while, but it seems as though the 2D wheel does not work in model space when you have "2D Drafting and Annotation" workspace current, but does work when you have the 3D workspace current - which is strange.
Thanks for you help anyway.
Maurice.
